Dr. David Gershkovich PT, DPT
Founder & Clinical Director
Dave graduated with his BS in exercise physiology in 2006 and his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Long Island University in 2010. In 2015 Dave became founder and owner of Riser Physical Medicine. With advanced clinical training in treatments for the shoulder and spine, he hopes to bring his knowledge of exercise science, manual techniques, and interpersonal skills to the Riser patient population. Dave believes that successful physical therapy, revolves around empowering patients to become responsible for their own recovery, while he effectively guides them through the phases of rehabilitation.
Dr. Michael Moscati, DC
In 2006, Dr. Moscati completed the Doctor of Chiropractic program at the University of Bridgeport College of Chiropractic, with honors. He has since been working in private practice in New York City, delivering cutting-edge treatment to a varied patient base including athletes, corporate executives, dancers and weekend warriors alike. He has received post-graduate training in the assessment and treatment of sports injuries, nutritional counseling and kinesio-taping. He is also one of the few chiropractors in NYC certified in the Graston technique of soft tissue mobilization, which has become an integral part of his practice.
Dr. Moscati believes strongly that a truly multifaceted approach to patient care, including chiropractic treatment, physical therapy, massage/soft tissue mobilization, nutritional support and therapeutic exercise is essential to achieving and maintaining the highest level of health and well-being.
Suzanna Klichinsky is the Pilates director for Riser Physical Medicine. She is a certified Mat and props based Pilates practitioner, and is currently completing an advanced reformer certification with the Hospital for Special Surgery.
Suzanna believes that Pilates can help individuals of all fitness levels attain strength from the inside, out. She helps her clients focus on appropriate breathing techniques, specific muscle recruitment, and efficient spinal positioning during her Pilates classes.
In addition to being an avid Pilates enthusiast, Suzanna is certified in TRX based activities, and completing a Barre exercise certification. She is enthusiastic about working with the Riser client population, and integrating Pilates activities into the rehabilitation process.
Dr. Ashley Narain, DC
Dr. Ashley Narain is a board-certified chiropractor who graduated with honors from the University of Bridgeport College of Chiropractic. Dr Narain is a certified ART (Active Release Technique) practitioner and loves integrating focused soft tissue techniques into her treatments. Additionally, she is certified by Microgate in OptoJump, a unique athletic performance assessment system, Sole Supports for gait-referenced orthotic casting, and has also attained NBCE certification to perform Physiotherapy. These skills allow Dr. Narain to treat a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions, including neck, back and shoulder pain as well as extremity issues, TMJ problems, headaches and sports injuries. Dr. Narain’s goal in practice is to create a specialized treatment plan for each individual patient that is based on functional movement patterns and orthopedic tests. She strives to determine the causative tissue of the complaint and seeks to equip patients with the tools they need to move beyond their dysfunction.
Christy Allen is an Acupuncturist, Massage Therapist, and Yoga Instructor. She studied massage and assisted anatomy at the Swedish Institute. She has studied yoga with Rodney Yee, Judith Lasater, and Brooke Myers. To expand her offerings, she graduated from Tri-State College of Acupuncture, where she earned her Master of Science degree. Since 1998, she has combined Swedish, Deep Tissue, and Thai Massage with Reiki and Yoga, based on client needs. She has experience working with professional athletes, musicians, and performers, as well as pre/post-natal, injury rehab, MS, and cancer. In 2011 she became a research intern in the Psychosocial Oncology Program in Mind-Body applications at the Montefiore-Einstein Cancer Center. She has since gained valuable experience working in the Integrative Medicine Departments of NYU and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. She has also volunteered offering yoga to clients affected by cancer at Gilda’s Club, massage for HIV/AIDS and hospice, and Therapy Dog work. She is grateful to be able to share the art of acupuncture and bodywork with her clients.
Marissa Wolfson, PTA CFMT
Marissa graduated with her BS from the University of Arizona. She then continued her education at Nassau College where she obtained her degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant, PTA. She is certified in Functional Movement/Medical Taping as well as obtaining a certification in Reiki 1 & 2. Marissa has an extensive athletic background in both high school and collegiate levels. In addition to her passion for orthopedic and sports rehabilitation, she is practicing a holistic approach to healing patients with Reiki 1 & 2
