Cupping in NYC

Have you ever noticed someone walking around with weird marks on their body that looked like they got into a fight with an octopus, and wondered what it was?

Have you heard about cupping but were too afraid to ask or try it yourself?

Do you suffer from chronic pain or stiffness and are looking for a new approach to treatment?

Learn more about myofascial decompression or “cupping” below to see if it's right for you!

What is cupping?

Pain and stiffness can occur when the different layers of tissue, or fascia, get stuck together and restrict movement.

Traditional “cupping” utilizes heat and pressure to improve blood supply to the target area and will lift the layers of tissue underneath the cups.

The reason myofascial decompression, or cupping, is different than other forms of treatment is that it brings added active movement like stretching and exercise to break up the restrictions in order to relieve pain and improve your mobility.

Myofascial decompression can also help to improve blood supply to help release trigger points in common areas.

Recent studies have shown that myofascial decompression, when combined with physical therapy, can reduce pain and increase your time to recovery!
